(Note:
We are sorry not to be able to offer you

This day is absolutely free and meant to
be family day.
Recommendation: there will be a
choirs-music festival in Dortmund

Clara-Schumann-School “Clara’s Voices”
will sing from 6.15 to 6.45 p.m. at

(Note: As it sometimes happens that
people fall into the water while
canoeing, it is advisable to prepare a
second set of clothes. You can leave
your bag with your additional clothes in
my car before you start your tour. So
you can change your clothes after the
end of the tour, i.e. before the
barbecue.)
Monday, 08th June,
2009:
(Costs for the train and the tours of
Dortmund:
approx. € 7,00 per person)
07:55 – 09:30 a.m.: the Italian
students meet in Room 002 and work with
a German
class on political systems
in Italy and Germany. Introductions in
English by Mr. Brömmel
09:30
– 09:45 a.m.: during the first break
our group sets off to the City Hall in
Holz-
wickede. There at
10:00 a.m.: we will be
welcomed by the deputy mayor of
Holzwickede, Mrs.
Mölle, who will give us some information
about Holzwickede.
After we have spent some time of talking
there and taken a picture
in front of City Hall, we will slowly
set off for Holzwickede station.
11:20 a.m.: we meet on
platform 5
11:32 a.m.: our train
leaves for Dortmund main station
11:51 a.m.: train arrives
at Dortmund on platform 4
Now the students and their teachers have
got one hour to move slowly and in
smaller groups from the main station to
Dortmund’s City Hall, which is next to
‘Friedensplatz’. During this walk
through the city centre you will have
the chance of having some sandwiches,
which will strengthen you for the tour
to come.
12:50 p.m.: we meet at
the City Hall, ‘Friedensplatz’
01:00 p.m.: two tours of
‘Dortmund per pedes’ start:
Our Italian guests will enjoy the tour
in English, because the Italian
guide was already booked.
The German students are guided by a
German guide, because a second English
one could not be booked.
Both two-hour-tours will offer you an
insight into Dortmund’s past and present
with special emphasis on its medieval
times.
After the tours you are asked to feel
free and it is up to you whether you
would like to stay in Dortmund for some
time or decide to travel home. The only
precondition is to decide together with
your exchange partner and to move in
mixed groups.
The train line from Dortmund to
Holzwickede is safe and familiar to the
German students. So this day officially
ends in Dortmund.
Tuesday, 09th June,
2009:
(Costs for the train and the tours
inside the living
history museum: approx. € 6,00 per
person)
07:55 – 10.35 a.m.: our day starts at
school. While the German students attend
their
individual classes, our Italian guests
can meet in room R … to
reflect on their experience during the
exchange so far and have a
stroll around Holzwickede.
10:35 a.m.: we all meet
in the entrance hall to get ready for
our trip to a living
history museum in Hagen
11:10 a.m.: we meet at
Holzwickede station on platform 3
11:20 a.m.: our train
leaves for Hagen main station
11:37 a.m.: arrival of
train on platform 7
Now we all quickly walk to the busses
waiting outside the building, because
our bus already leaves at
11:43 a.m.: departure of
bus 512 in the direction of Breckerfeld
12:07 p.m.: arrival at
bus stop ‘Freilichtmuseum’
From there we walk to the entrance of
the living history museum. The one-hour
tours we booked are both in English, so
you can stay in mixed groups of 26
students. In both tours you will be
informed about food and nutrition during
the last three centuries.
01:00 p.m.: the first
tour starts at the ‘Remise’, which is at
the very end of the
area covered by this museum. The walk on
foot there takes approx.
30 minutes. So please remember to set
off early enough from the
entrance gate.
02:00
p.m.: the second tour
starts at the ‘Remise’ as well.
Please make sure that both groups are
roughly of the same number of people,
i.e. 26 plus teachers.
While one group is doing the tour, the
others are invited to have a look around
the area on their own.
04:10 p.m.: we meet at
the entrance gate to leave the museum
and walk to the bus stop together
04:26 p.m.: departure of
bus 512 in the direction of Hagen-Bathey
04:48 p.m.: arrival at
Hagen main station
Again, we quickly leave the bus and walk
inside the building, because our train
leaves at
04:58 p.m.: from platform
3, Hagen main station to Holzwickede
station
05:13 p.m.: arrival of
train at Holzwickede station, platform 2
In the evening we meet at 07:45 p.m. at
Café del Sol in Lünen,
Lindenplatz 1, where
we will spend our last evening together.
All German families are heartily invited
to come
along and enjoy the last evening
together.
Wednesday, 10th June
2009:
This, unluckily, is the day of your
departure.
Your plane with the flight no. AB 8840
leaves at 05:05 p.m. from Düsseldorf
airport.
So I suggest setting off from
Holzwickede at around 1:30 p.m.
We have not decided yet how to arrange
the morning until the time you leave. If
you
have any suggestions, please let us
know.
So in total the fees for fare, entrance
and guidance amount to 64,00 € per
person.
If we are lucky again to receive a
donation by the school’s aid
association, we will spend it partly on
the barbecue and partly on our last
evening at Café del Sol.
